Fort Worth, Texas (November 30, 2010) - Starr Tincup, a full-service marketing agency for companies in specialized market segments such as human capital management, was recently named one of the Best Companies to Work for in Texas 2011. The awards program was created in 2006 and is a project of Texas Monthly magazine, the Texas Association of Business (TAB), the Texas State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management (TSC-SHRM) and Best Companies Group.

“I think it was the air hockey table that put us over the top,” said Kevin Mangum, partner. “It’s too easy to point to outstanding benefits, great clients and happy hours at The Usual, which is the best bar in Fort Worth. But let’s be real for a second. If you look at all of the winners, I’ll bet you’d find a lot of air hockey tables. That’s what really attracts cool people who work hard and think up cool stuff.”

The Best Companies to Work for in Texas statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Texas, places that benefit the state's economy, its workforce and businesses.

Starr Tincup is also a three-time recipient of Best Place to Work in Dallas-Fort Worth honors from the Dallas Business Journal. Among the reasons that Starr Tincup is a great place to work:

To be eligible for the Best Companies to Work for in Texas honor, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the Best Companies to Work for in Texas. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75 percent of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Texas and also analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.

Starr Tincup will be recognized and honored at the Best Companies to Work for in Texas awards ceremony Thursday, January 27, as part of the Texas Association of Business 2011 Annual Conference in Austin, Texas. The rankings will also be released in a special advertising section of the February issue of Texas Monthly.
