Fort Worth, Texas (April 13, 2011) – Starr Tincup, a full-service marketing agency dedicated to the human capital management (HCM) software and services industry, has hired Laurie Ruettimann, the omniscient social media and human resources juggernaut. Ruettimann will join Starr Tincup as Principal HR and Social Media Strategist. Her primary initiatives will include:
- Social Media Strategy – Developing and implementing new social media strategies that connect HR solutions vendors with HR professionals in authentic and engaging ways
- Human Resources Advocacy – Monitoring and predicting trends in the HR community to help HR solutions vendors provide better products, services and guidance to HR professionals and other senior executives
- Thought Leadership – Contributing to a wide range of thought leadership products for Starr Tincup clients that include contributed articles, white papers and media and analysts strategies
In addition to the initiatives above, Ruettimann will continue to participate in the broader social media and human resources discourse, leveraging her influence as a sought-after speaker, celebrated blogger and renowned writer. For example, Ruettimann’s widely read blog, The Cynical Girl (www.thecynicalgirl.com), will remain an independent media property; however, Starr Tincup may support the blog as a sponsor.
“Laurie Ruettimann is a transcendent hire for Starr Tincup,” said Bret Starr, a partner at Starr Tincup. “Our clients just won the social media lottery. Not only is she uniquely positioned to help our clients crack the code on effective social media strategy, she also has a deep, pragmatic and authentic understanding of the people who purchase HR solutions. Her social media expertise combined with her real-life human resources experience makes her immediately indispensable to Starr Tincup and our clients.”
Ruettimann officially joins Starr Tincup on April 25, 2011.

About Starr Tincup
Starr Tincup is a full-service marketing agency for companies in specialized market segments. We build brands by telling the truth (to you, to your customers and to ourselves). We promise an unyielding pursuit of the truth as we work to discover the mysteries of your idiosyncratic buyers. Our job is to enhance your position in the market. We do that by thinking, writing, designing and developing. And talking on the phone. We talk on the phone a lot.
You can find us on the second floor of an old warehouse in Panther City (it gets hot in the summer). Or on the World Wide Web. Answers to frequently asked questions: (1) Three-time Best Places to Work; (2) Year 2000; (3) $12 million; (4) Nearly 300; and (5) Never before a business meeting (well, okay, sometimes).
